Message to our salon network with regards to COVID-19

A personal note from The Little Princess Trust's Chief Executive

During these exceptional times, The Little Princess Trust is adapting to the COVID-19 situation with great diligence, and I want to personally assure all the salons in our network that we as a charity are doing all that is in our power to ensure we can continue to provide our important service in an environment that is safe to all involved.

The Little Princess Trust has always been committed to the health and well-being of its wig recipients, staff, supporters and partners. The health of every one of you and your families remains a top priority. As an organisation with a national presence, as part of the collective effort to control the virus, we are taking the steps necessary to minimise the impact on our staff and partners.

The decisions we make are based on Government guidelines and advice from the World Health Organisation and NHS England as we carefully consider the implications for The Little Princess Trust, our wig recipients and our network of salons.

Our priority is on ensuring the safety of young people, staff, volunteers, supporters and salon partners while continuing to provide our important service to young people with cancer and other conditions.

As a valued member of The Little Princess Trust salon network, I wanted to reassure you that we have put in place extra layers of protection to ensure the safe transit of every one of our wigs to each recipient.

Our commitment to the safety and well-being of each young person we help must be extended to the wig fitting appointment and we are asking all wig recipients to first speak with their medical teams for guidance before booking an appointment with a wig fitter.

We advise all salons to double check with your wig recipient that medical advice has been sought before confirming the wig fitting appointment.

It’s imperative that salons are equally up to date with Government guidelines and are providing a safe and appropriate environment. I would encourage anyone seeking further guidance on this issue to visit www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-employers-and-businesses-about-covid-19

In these extremely challenging times, we are incredibly grateful to count on the professional support of such an excellent network of salons to continue to provide our valuable service to children and young people.

Thank you for being part of The Little Princess Trust network of salons. We are committed to being there for everyone in this special group and we are here should you have any further questions.
