Wig expert becomes one of our ambassadors

Nick played key part in UK wig-knotting partnership

One of the key figures behind The Little Princess Trust’s UK wig-making coalition has become one of our corporate ambassadors.

We had long wanted to source more of our wigs closer to our Hereford headquarters and, in 2020, held discussions with industry experts to explore the possibility of creating a new freelance network of LPT wig-knotters in the UK.

Nick Allen, owner of Banbury Postiche, was one of the first people we met, and we were delighted when he agreed to join the partnership.

As well as sharing a wealth of experience and knowledge, Nick agreed for Banbury Postiche to handle the knotting and finishing of the wigs that are destined for the children and young people supported by LPT.

Banbury Postiche also offers comprehensive training to all the freelance wig-knotters who join up to be part of this exciting collaboration.

Phil Brace, from The Little Princess Trust, this week asked Nick to become one of our corporate ambassadors and was delighted when he accepted.

“We are so pleased to now be knotting our own wigs in the UK, but we know that this has only been possible thanks to the involvement of some very talented people like Nick,” said Phil.

“His expertise has been invaluable, and we hope to continue working together to increase the amount of wigs that are knotted in the UK.”

Nick said: “Hair is often an integral part of a person’s identity, and we were incredibly proud to be selected by The Little Princess Trust to help create and distribute the wigs that will hopefully bring some comfort to children and young people during an incredibly difficult time.

“It means a huge amount to me and the whole team at Banbury Postiche to be able to help support and raise awareness for such a wonderful charity like The Little Princess Trust and to utilise our extensive experience in order to help them deliver on their commitments.”

The Little Princess Trust is always keen to hear from anyone interested in becoming a wig-knotter. For more information, email us at, media@littleprincesses.org.uk
