Manchester United fan's unique challenge helps LPT

Frank Ilett won't cut his hair until his team wins five games in a row
We have heard of many different reasons why people choose to donate their long locks to The Little Princess Trust.
But, in our 20-year history, we have never heard of anyone coming up with an idea to grow their hair quite like Frank Ilett.
The 29-year-old is a big Manchester United fan and, frustrated by his team’s performances last season, came up with a novel way to spur his team on.
He took to social media and promised he would not cut his hair again until the Red Devils won five games in a row.
Unfortunately for Frank, his idea has not prompted a change in fortune for his side and, almost one year on, his still hair has not been cut.
This means that he is spending longer and longer looking after his hair but, as it continued to grow, he thought he might be able to help The Little Princess Trust if Manchester United’s form does one day improve.
Frank has becoming something of a cult figure with the Old Trafford fans, taking many photos with supporters at home games last season, while he has also given interviews to journalists both at home and abroad who are interested in his unique challenge.
He first started out to raise money for MIND UK and now that he has met his target has begun gathering sponsorship for The Little Princess Trust.
Despite the discomfort, Frank has embraced the attention, growing his Instagram account 'The United Strand' to more than 200,000 followers and even drawing interest from hair-care brands.
And, with a tough set of fixtures coming up for Ruben Amorim’s men, it could be a good while yet before Frank can finally reach for the scissors and donate his hair to LPT.
Speaking to The Little Princess Trust, Frank said: "I started this challenge as a way to spread humour to fellow Man United fans, in a tough time for the club, but It has become much bigger than that and I'm proud of the positive community that has built around this.
"I hope that together, we can use this platform to help others. The Little Princess Trust do amazing work and I hope we can help them to help others."
