Salons pledge to offer free hair cuts

National chain supports our call for longer donations

Regis and Supercuts hair and beauty salons are lending their support to a cause very close to their hearts.

The Little Princess Trust has been chosen as the salon companies’ charity of 2026, and fundraising activities will take place throughout the year to help children and young people with hair loss.

Regis and Supercuts will offer free haircuts to guests who choose to donate more than 12 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust.

Salons will offer to cut the donation ponytail and provide a shampoo, restyle haircut and blast dry service free of charge as part of its commitment to help the charity’s Hair and Hope mission.

The salons are offering free hair cuts to anyone donating at least 12 inches of hair.

The Little Princess Trust needs hair donations to make the wigs it provides for anyone up to the age of 24 with hair loss. More than 2,000 children and young people are helped by the charity every year, the majority of whom have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

The partnership was agreed after a team of stylists from Regis and Supercuts attended the annual national Wella TrendVision Awards in London, where The Little Princess Trust told stylists how hair is donated, wigs are made and childhood research is funded.

Carla Whelan, Chief Executive Officer of Supercuts and Regis, subsequently underwent treatment for breast cancer. Through her own experience, she witnessed first-hand the profound positive impact that real hair wigs can have.

This personal journey strengthened her organisation’s commitment to the charity by leveraging its nationwide salon network to increase hair donations, create more wigs for children, and support the researchers funded by The Little Princess Trust.

Carla Whelan, CEO of Regis and Supercuts, is happy to be supporting The Little Princess Trust.

Carla Whelan said: "I was moved by the work of The Little Princess Trust from the moment I met the team and heard about their mission to support young people.

"My own recent experience of cancer treatment hair loss and how wigs enabled me to feel confident again reinforced my goal to give something back with the support of our 450 employed colleagues across our Regis and Supercuts salon group to cut ponytails to create wigs for children and young people and also to fundraise in 2026.

"I’m hopeful people of all ages with naturally coloured hair will feel inspired to donate their hair.”

With 65 salons spread across the UK, it is hoped that many hair donations can be collected to help The Little Princess Trust in producing more real hair wigs to help boost the confidence and self-esteem of the many young people using its free wig provision service.

Regis salons across the country are supporting the appeal.

As well as providing real hair wigs, The Little Princess Trust also funds childhood cancer research, and the Regis and Supercuts salons will be promoting this as part of a fundraising drive for the charity, with events planned throughout the year.

Phil Brace, the Chief Executive of The Little Princess Trust, said: “We are so grateful to Carla and all the staff at Regis and Supercuts for making us their charity of the year.

"Their support will be a huge help and ensure we can not only provide wigs but also let many more people know that we are here to help any young person, up to the age of 24, with hair loss.”

Fundraisers wishing to donate their hair to The Little Princess Trust are now able to book their FREE hair cutting service at a Regis or Supercuts local to them. All donation and restyle haircuts must be booked in advance by phoning their salon directly.
