New Ideas Grants open for applications

We're looking for innovative childhood cancer research to fund

Researchers with impactful and innovative ideas within the field of childhood cancer are being invited to share them with The Little Princess Trust.

We at LPT are keen to support innovation in children and young people’s cancer research, backing promising projects which may struggle to find funding from traditional research sources.

Our ‘New Ideas Grants’ are to help researchers generate high-quality preliminary data, or to demonstrate the validity of a hypothesis or study, to advance innovative and novel ideas with the potential to transform the treatment of children and young people’s cancer.

We are looking for impactful, ‘thinking outside the box’ ideas and applicants should have a novel hypothesis.

The Little Princess Trust began funding childhood cancer research in 2016.

You may have some preliminary data that can be developed further, but this is not a pre-requisite for this grant round.

We are looking for projects which are genuinely new and haven’t been done before.

We will prioritise exciting ideas with the greatest potential to secure further funding, including from LPT in future innovation-focused funding rounds.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday, February 15.

Project grants also now open

Meanwhile, LPT's next round of project grants is also now open to new applications.

Previous awards have ranged from £40,000 to £250,000, however, there is no upper limit for proposals and decisions are primarily based on the quality of the proposed research and its potential impact rather than cost.
