New book is inspired by wig recipient

Proceeds from sales of Glorious Gloria! will support our work
The story of a Little Princess Trust wig recipient has inspired a new children’s book.
Written by Briony Butcher, Glorious Gloria! tells the tale of a 10-year-old girl who dreams of having long hair.
Briony says her debut book is about hair and hope, and what happens when we are willing to share what we have to help others.
The writer says she was inspired to put pen to paper after meeting Mikayla. She began cancer treatment at the age of 4 and received an LPT wig when she was 5.
Briony said the wig “enabled her to go to school and feel ‘normal’, and to surprise her dad at her parents’ wedding by arriving with a head of hair that looked remarkably like her original hair”.
Proceeds from sales of Glorious Gloria, which is illustrated by Lou Cox and has a reading age of 8 to 12, will be donated to support the work of The Little Princess Trust.
Briony, who is pictured (right) with Mikayla (centre) and Lou, said: “Glorious Gloria! is a fun read, with a heart-warming theme, helping junior and middle school children think about the power they hold as potential givers.”
