Mum's praise for our free wig service

Wig gave Grace 'incredible self-confidence' during treatment

The mother of one of our amazing wig recipients has put into words just how important a wig can be.

Melanie Byng approached LPT three years ago when her daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma.

It is hard to put into words the difference it made to her.

Mum Melanie said the wig provided "the most incredible source of self-confidence during treatment".

"Whilst she embraced her bald look and rocked her bandanas there were occasions when she wanted to feel like a princess or to look like everyone else without others asking questions and your charity made this happen," Melanie added.

"It is hard to put into words the difference it made to her."

Three years on and 18 months after the end of her treatment, Grace is now thriving, healthy and happy - and her hair has grown back to a beautiful bob length.

We are all so happy to have helped Grace - and are absolutely delighted to hear how well she is now doing!
