Little Princess Trust COVID-19 Continuity Statement

Objective remains providing our vital service to children with cancer

In these uncertain times, everything can feel overwhelming. News is evolving fast about coronavirus and the last few weeks have brought many challenges and changes to the way we work at The Little Princess Trust.

But our objective is still to ensure that we are providing our vital service to children with cancer.

To do so we have been closely following advice from the Government and our incredible NHS as we adapt during these unprecedented times to provide young people with real hair wigs.

A key priority for us remains the health and well-being of everyone within the LPT family and most of our amazing team are now working from home.

We remain committed to distribute wigs in a safe and socially responsible way and some of our brilliant partner salons have joined our own LPT wig fitter in carrying out virtual wig fitting appointments following the enforced closure of salons across the UK.

We will continue to do all we can to provide a wig to a young person whenever we receive a request – and it is only thanks to the incredible help from our supporters that we are able to do this.

We fully understand that many people are experiencing difficulties but we are encouraging those that can continue to back our charity to do so during this incredibly challenging situation.

To those who have supported us financially over many years, thank you. Every act of support makes a meaningful difference and your contributions bring hair and hope to young people at a very tough time in their lives.

To those who are thinking of giving: remember that we are also one of the UK’s major charity funders of children’s cancer research and this research community relies on us.

The expertise of our researchers was highlighted this week when many of our Little Princess Trust grant holders were asked to divert their resources and skills due to the pressing demand of COVID-19 treatments and testing.

Since there will be an unavoidable delay in continuing with their LPT funded research during the current crisis, we are very proud to support them in their recall to frontline services.

We look forward to a time when they can return to their paediatric cancer research projects that search for kinder, less toxic and more effective treatments as we all work towards a day when no child dies of cancer.
