King Charles' praise for The Little Princess Trust's work

Buckingham Palace event welcomed guests from 'cancer community'
Representatives from The Little Princess Trust were honoured to be among guests from the ‘cancer community’ who were invited to Buckingham Palace by King Charles.
In a heartfelt address to many people affected by cancer, the King spoke about his own diagnosis and how he’d become a cancer "statistic" - referencing the more than 1,000 new cases recorded in the UK every day.
Praising the "community of care" of those who help cancer patients, for their humanity as well as their expertise, the King said his experience of living with cancer had shown that "the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion".
The Little Princess Trust was represented at the event by wig recipient and LPT Ambassador Kiya Kanani and our Trustee Tim Lowe, who has given 20 years of voluntary service to our charity.
Registered Health Play Specialist Penelope Hart-Spencer and Little Princess Trust Wig Referrals Manager Andrea Reese were also among the 500 guests.
Penelope, who handed the King a copy of her book Anna Loses Her Hair, said it was an unforgettable evening.
“King Charles was so complimentary about the work of The Little Princess Trust and the support for children with cancer,” she added.
“We were so proud to talk about the important work that LPT is doing in funding research into childhood cancers and providing real hair wigs for thousands of children and young people.”
