Building bridges and gathering support in Norway

Scandinavian students and salons help our Hair and Hope mission
A visit to Norway marked an exciting step for The Little Princess Trust as the charity continues to build on its international partnerships.
Phil Brace and Wendy Tarplee-Morris travelled to Oslo to meet staff from Adam og Eva, a prominent and successful Norwegian hair salon chain.
During Phil and Wendy’s visit to the organisation’s head office in Norway, they met the company’s founder, Øistein Bjørndal, and discussed ways we could work together to help children and young people with hair loss.
A presentation was given to staff outlining The Little Princess Trust’s free wig provision service and our funding of childhood cancer research while the message that “doing good feels good” clearly resonated, sparking a thoughtful discussion and Q&A session.

The following day focused on shaping the future of the partnership. We discussed how we could increase hair donations across Scandinavia, new approaches to fundraising in Norway, and the best ways to raise awareness through the media.
Talks were also held to explore wig provision for children in Norway, with further research planned to better understand local demand.

Since 2019, The Little Princess Trust has gradually built up several overseas partnerships and now provides its wigs to children in Portugal, Bulgaria, Sweden and Slovenia.
The growing influence of the charity overseas was in evidence at Norway’s Fjordkraft Bergen City Marathon on April 25.
Pauline Hordvik wore our running vest as she mader her way around the 26.2 miles and even had her hair cut by her partner a few metres before the finishing line.

She wanted to donate her hair and raise awareness of our free wigs having undergone treatment for Granulomatosis with polyangiitis when she was 14.
Pauline started the student association, Patients in Medical School, at Bergen University which engages in annual hair donations to The Little Princess Trust.
As part of the trip to Norway, Phil and Wendy met Pauline and told students in Bergen how their support plays a key role in helping our Hair and Hope mission.
