Wig has given a huge boost to Beth's confidence

Wig has given a huge boost to Beth's confidence

First question after diagnosis was about potential loss of hair

The first question Beth asked doctors after being diagnosed with non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and being told she would need to undergo chemotherapy was about the potential loss of her hair.

The 20-year-old was understandably anxious about losing her hair and she soon got in touch with LPT to see if we could help.

I was in complete distress at the sight of my hair falling out. I felt like I lost a huge part of my identity.

Within a week of starting chemotherapy, Beth's hair started to fall out but help was on hand from The Little Princess Trust.

Beth said that receiving a wig “brought the joy back” into her life, making her “feel empowered and not ashamed to be seen in public”.

The Little Princess Trust organised a wig for me, ready for when I lost my hair.

Her comments show the huge impact each and every hair donation and penny raised can make to the children and young people supported by The Little Princess Trust.

After six months of treatment, Beth is now in full remission and her hair is starting to grow back!

Beth, who recently came to the Hannah Tarplee Building to take part in a photo shoot for our Wig Collection Brochure, says she will continue to wear her wig as it helps her to feel more confident in her appearance.
