Best friends Tia and Hattie donate hair together!

Best friends Tia and Hattie decided that, in the summer of 2021, they would both donate their hair to help those undergoing cancer treatment or other forms of hair loss.

After some research into the charity, the girls found out that it costs £550 to provide a child or young person with their own real hair wig. Determined to make a difference, they decided they wanted to raise enough money to provide two wigs.

Tia and Hattie felt that it would be best to grow out their hair for another year in order to donate as much as possible. This gave them time to plan their fundraising events in the meantime.

In March 2022, their fundraising journey began, and over the next 4 months, the girls organised and took part in a range of different events, including:

• 4 Easter Raffles
• Keyrings for Katie Elizabeth School of Dance
• Cake Sale at home
• Red, White & Blue Jubilee Non-Uniform at Katie Elizabeth School of Dance
• 1 Jubilee Raffle
• Cake & Toy Sale at Katie Elizabeth School of Dance
• Crazy Hair & Non-Uniform at their Junior School
• 1 Big Raffle with over 50 prizes to be won.

Tia & Hattie had managed to hit their target of £1,100. Following their extremely successful fundraisers, they decided they wanted to go for round two, and raise enough money to provide two more wigs to children experiencing the effects of hair loss.

Following their amazing fundraising efforts, and all the support these girls received, the total amount raised for The Little Princess trust was an exceptional £5,510.85.

This sum was also paired with a hair donation totalling a massive 36 inches of hair!
