'Kindness shown this year gives me faith in humanity'

Christmas message from Phil Brace, Little Princess Trust Chief Executive

As 2025 draws to a close, I am incredibly proud of what The Little Princess Trust has achieved in this, our 20th year.

For two decades, our purpose has remained clear and unwavering: to help children and young people experiencing hair loss by providing high-quality wigs free of charge, and to fund vital research that is kinder and improves outcomes for children and young adults affected by cancer.

In 2025, we helped 2,200 children and young people through our wig provision service. Each child we help represents a family navigating one of the most difficult periods of their lives, and we are determined that every interaction with The Little Princess Trust is compassionate, dignified and centred on their needs. Being brilliant in our service is not optional – it is fundamental to who we are.

The Little Princess Trust helped more than 2,000 children and young people with hair loss in 2025.

Alongside this, we have continued to fund vital research, working collaboratively with expert partners to ensure our supporters’ generosity is invested in high-quality studies that drive better outcomes for children and young people.

While research can take time, we remain committed to playing our part in a coordinated and evidence-led approach that puts patients and families first.

Working with the researchers, fellows, professors and research centres across the UK allows us to meet some extraordinary, driven, and phenomenally clever individuals who all share a common goal in improving the lives of children and young people affected by cancer.

We are humbled and in awe of their work and remain committed to funding the best discovery science and ensuring its pathway to patient care through clinical trials is evidenced.

Witnessing this kindness, year after year, gives me real faith in humanity.

One of the things that moves me most is the extraordinary number of children and young people who donate their hair and fundraise so that we can help other children and young adults who need our wigs.

Many are giving to people they will never meet, yet they do so with such generosity, empathy and determination. Witnessing this kindness, year after year, gives me real faith in humanity and is powerful evidence that compassion exists in abundance.

I care deeply and passionately about everything we do at The Little Princess Trust, and just as importantly, how we do it. Our purpose is always at the forefront of our actions, guiding our decisions, our behaviours and the standards we hold. Our values are lived every day – in the way we support families, work with partners, and strive continually to improve what we offer.

The year 2025 marked the 20th anniversary of The Little Princess Trust.

I would like to thank our Trustees for their leadership, insight and steadfast commitment to our mission, and my exceptional team for their professionalism, compassion and tireless dedication. Their commitment ensures that we remain a charity families can trust, and supporters can be proud to stand behind.

Finally, I would like to thank our fundraisers, donors, hair donors and partners. Your belief and trust in our work enables us to continue helping more children each year and to look ahead with confidence.

As we enter our third decade, we do so with clarity and determination, committed to being brilliant in our service, purposeful in our funding of research, and always guided by our values that place children and young adults at the heart of everything we do.

So, on behalf of everybody involved with The Little Princess Trust, I wish you a happy Christmas and a peaceful, healthy 2026 full of hope, compassion and kindness.
