Hereford-based charity the Little Princess Trust is renowned for providing free real hair wigs to children and young adults across the whole of the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or as a result of other medical conditions.
A fact that is not as well-known, however, is that the charity has provided awards to a variety of medical research projects. In this third round of research funding, seven projects (five larger projects and two smaller pilot projects) have been awarded a total of £537,482, bringing our overall investment so far to just over £1,200,000.
Little Princess Trust has provided funds to a diverse number of projects, all of which focus in some way on paediatric cancers. Our objective is to fund research into the causes and cures for childhood cancers and to support research into less toxic treatments that don’t result in hair loss.
